Links Update

No release today, but an announcement about download links. Most importantly, we're now able to provide direct download links for all our releases. We'd like to ask that you use the hosting links first, but direct download is now available for every release. All doujinshi that were previously down are available again, and any dead links have been removed. Some of you had also previously reported that several pages in Toki no Megami were corrupt, but I hadn't been able to find anything wrong with them when I checked. I'm happy to say I figured out what was causing the error (it was a weird compression glitch), and a new, fully-working .zip file has been uploaded. I checked all the other files, and it seems that this was the only one with the glitch, but if anyone else comes across similar errors in other files, please let me know.

I've also removed the links to the batch downloads; I didn't feel they were necessary anymore. I'd like to see what you guys think, though, so I've put a poll up on the livejournal community to get opinions on if batch files are useful or not.

In Loving Memory

Several months ago, one of my closest friends passed away. I wanted to scanlate something in her honor, and as she adored AkuRoku, I thought it fitting to scanlate one of her favorite doujinshi—a bittersweet Kingdom Hearts story. I've been working on this for a while now; I've had other things I could have had done and released before now, but I wanted to finish this before anything else. That's been most of the reason for the long silence here.

I wish I could've finished this when you were still here to see it, but this one's for you, Amanda. Here's hoping you're reading it now, wherever you are.

Updated Links
//02_15

All the old links have now been changed over to multiupload. Any megaupload and/or rapidshare links were deleted, since multiupload covers those two servers anyway, but the mediafire and sendspace links remain. It looks like savefile has gone down for good, so all those links have been removed. There are a few older releases that are currently unavailable, but we're working on getting them up again.

With savefile down, this also means the Hochuuami archive is gone, so we'll be redoing it with another filehosting service. We'll have it up as soon as we can, so please bear with us while we get that set up!

First Update for 2010

See? Told you we weren't dead! After a long silence, we've finally got a release for you: Barbie, a lovely Yubinbasha doujinshi featuring Cloud in drag. Also, a big thanks to Namineh for scanning it; she's scanned a bunch more Yubin for us, so keep a lookout for those sometime in the future! Please be aware that releases will continue to be less frequent due to RL time constrants, but hopefully we won't go that long without updating again.

We're also using multiupload to host our releases now; it uploads the file to a number of file hosting sites, so we're hoping that will cut down on the problem of dead links! All the current links will be replaced with multiupload links sometime in the near future.

Status Update

Sadly, no release today; just a quick status update, since we've been silent for a while. I announced this on the livejournal update community a while back, but basically the lack of activity can be chalked up to computer troubles, lack of time, and life in general. Never fear, though, we're not going anywhere! :] We've got projects in the works as always, so cross your fingers for something relatively soon.

I've also gone through and weeded out all the dead links. All the turboupload links finally went kaput, and although savefile isn't working right now, I know they just went through a server change, so I'm holding out on those links a while longer.

I know I'm slow in replying to emails; please bear with me. It's a horrid habit of mine, and I do work fulltime, so... it's nothing personal; I just fail. :] Thanks to all of you for sticking with us!

Gemini Time Again!

Firefly

We're unveiling a secret project we've been working on for a while: firefly, a new sister site to dragonfly! Firefly is focused on translating freeware boys love visual novels—but not originals; only those based on existing series, much like a doujinshi. This site works a little differently in that we contact the authors of the games to request permission before localizing them; if they refuse or don't reply, then the game will not be translated. Read the FAQ there for more information on firefly's policies, how we work, and how you can help!

Valentine's Day

It's a day late, but hey, today IS the day all the candy goes on sale... so it's still a day to celebrate! This is another one of our older never-gotten-released works, brought to light at last. It's a Prince of Tennis doujinshi, another series you haven't seen from us in a while... we're no longer actively scanlating works from this series, though. Still, enjoy the love!

Belated Holiday Releases

We promised you all a holiday release, and though it's a month late, we're finally delivering! And we have doujin from two series some of you might have been missing: Death Note and Eyeshield 21. We're no longer actively scanlating works from these series, but pluto1331 came forward with several edits she'd done in the past that had never gotten released by kitten_toy... so we're sharing some of those with you now! Unfortunately, these were done so long ago and far before I (Star) took over dragonfly that the credits on a few of these are incomplete. We've managed to locate the original workerbees on most of these, but for today's release, we're still unsure of the original translator of Sweet Seventeen. If you translated this work, please email us at dragonfly.djs[at]gmail[dot]com so we can credit you! This would have been translated roughly 2 years ago.

Happy belated holidays, whatever holiday you may (or may not) have celebrated! dragonfly loves you all!

First Release for 2009!

Apologies for no holiday releases yet, but our staff were home with family for the season, so we didn't get a chance to release anything during the proper time period... and yet, this first release isn't a belated holiday release (though those will be coming quite soon)! This work is for takefuji, one of our lovely ladies who generously helped us during the server move (you have her to thank for the pretty subdomain URL!).
